Richard Burns

It is with great sadness that we learned of the tragic death of Richard Burns. Richard won the World Rally Championship in 2001; the first Englishman to win this much coveted world title.

Richard was diagnosed with a brain tumour after passing out at the wheel in 2003. He underwent chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, but sadly lost his final race on 26 November 2005.

Richard was also a keen sailor, and was a part-owner of our yacht. He will be missed by all who knew him. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to his family.
